Dominican-American author Ana Brigida Gomez has been telling herself stories since she was five years old. In 2008, she won the National Children’s Book Award in the Dominican Republic for her story La Sirenita de Coral, Coral’s Little Mermaid.
Drawing from Catholic, Orthodox, Coptic, and mystical traditions, she reimagines the life of the most famous mother in history as both fully human and fully holy: a woman who said yes to the highest calling and paid with her own heart.
This is her English-language debut.
She currently lives in Southern California with her two children and their pet fish James.
