S.M. Stevens began writing fiction during back-to-back health crises: a shattered pelvis and ovarian cancer. Her focus is contemporary adult novels that make you laugh, cry and think, but she also dabbles in short stories, script-writing, essays, and novels for Young Adults and Middle Graders
Stevens is the author of the novel Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, and the novelette The Wallace House of Pain, which won a 2023 American Fiction Award and a First Place prize in the Chanticleer International Book Awards competition. Her next novel, Beautiful and Terrible Things, will be published in July 2024 by Black Rose Writing. She lives in Washington, New Hampshire.
